Purpose:

To promote social protection and elimination of social exclusion of people with mobility difficulties,  improving their quality of life and creating new perspectives for their integration into society.

AIM:

The transportation of people with mobility difficulties, who do not have the means to move about in order to meet their essential needs, especially pertaining to matters of health.

Target Audience: The programme is aimed at people who live in the Greater Nicosia area and experience any form of mobility difficulty.

How to apply for the program:

A car reservation can be made either via phone at 22664988/ 99689262 or via e-mail at nicosia@redcross.org.cy;  daily Monday -Fri from 8:30 am -15: 00 pm, at least 24 hours prior to the transport request. Please note that there is also the capability to transport an accompanying person, as well.

In which cases can one use the program?

1.  Transfers from and to hospitals, rehabilitation centres, clinics, doctor's offices, and;

2.  Any other event and destination that the applicant requests within the confines of the Greater Nicosia Area.

Useful Information:

All requests are evaluated by a social worker. There will be ανorder of priority pertaining to booking a car (on first-come-first-serve basis). For an applicant, it is important to underline that all the appropriate supporting documents should be presented, in order to complete the evaluation procedure and to proceed with the transfer, accordingly.

Transportation costs:

The cost of transportation is determined by the monthly income of each applicant:

1. For people, whose monthly income is less than € 1000, transport is Free-of-Charge, and;

2. For people, whose monthly income exceeds the amount of € 1000, there will be a charge of € 15 per transfer.
